Well, I guess we are starting a schedule of weekly blogging:) This past week was full of a number of firsts. I got to get out of the house for a haircut last week. I never knew a haircut could be so exciting. It was even better that I didn't have to worry about rushing home to feed Kaia since Bryn was left with a milk supply. It is amazing the sense of freedom that I have now that we have introduced Kaia to the bottle of breast milk.
Friday we ventured north to pick up some Bryn that a local brewery had been holding for us for months now. So we stood at the tasting bar with Bryn tasting beer while rocking a stroller. We figure we have to start her off with good taste from the beginning:)
Saturday we had a big adventure with our friends and their 12 week old daughter. We drove up to Solana Beach to have lunch at our favorite Pizza Port. So we sat there will some great pizza and local beer and enjoyed the beautiful day. Then we hopped on to a shuttle bus, with strollers and gear in tow, to head to the Del Mar Fairgrounds for the horse races. It was a pretty good day for all of us. I have to admit that I wouldn't have attempted that without being with other people in the same situation. It is great going out with people that don't mind getting off a schedule or having to stop for 20 minutes to nurse Kaia.
Bryn has taken the week off this week to hang out with us and catch up on some stuff. Because we were both around today, Bryn got to go for a run and then once he was home I got to go to the gym for the first time in months. It felt great! But it was hard not to do too much the first time back. This week dance classes start again so I will be heading back to class.
Kaia is doing great and we promise we will update the photos soon. She continues to "talk" more and have longer awake periods. She smiles a lot and has a number of great faces. She is holding her head up for longer periods of time and when we are holding her she is starting to pull away her entire torso and hold up her head and torso on her own. Time to feed the watermelon..
