More catch up
It is amazing how fast time flies. Kaia is growing so fast and gaining so many new skills. Since I blogged last time she has started moving around a lot more. When you put her down on the floor it is hard to know where she will be in a few minutes. She is spinning around in circles on her tummy and is rolling both ways. She has also been sitting unsupported for awhile. This past week she started some new tricks. she has learned how to pull herself up on her crib rail from sitting. Lucky for us she doesn't know how to go from laying down to sitting up yet. Tomorrow Bryn is dropping her mattress down a level:) She also wants to spend all of her time standing. If I sit her down, all she wants to do is pull herself up using my hands. Kaia also has a total of 5 signs now: more, all done, up, milk and light. The sign for milk started to turn into mommy, but we have been working on it.
One of Kaia's favorite new skills is the rasberry. She loves to blow rasberries all the time, especially while she is in the middle of eating in her high chair. Her solid food menu is growing rapidly. So far she has had carrots, sweet potato, green beans, peas, parsnips, butternut squash, zucchini, apples, prunes, peaches, bananas, pears, cherries, mangos, avacados, rice cereal and oatmeal.
This week Grandma (Bryn's mom) is visiting. She really isn't visiting us, she is visiting Kaia - but we are OK with that. Her visit coincides with Newport's Winter Festival. We got to check out an ice sculpting competition and a chili cook off. Tomorrow holds the Children's Fair for us and a ride on the railroad. Bryn and I also got a little adult time. Grandma babysat and we got to go out to dinner and check out some live music last night. Today we went for a drive towards Cape Cod and ended up in Boston while Grandma and Kaia hung out at home.
I am afraid to comment on the sleeping issues because whenever we think it is getting better something else changes. Some nights are better than others. After her flu shot booster we went back downhill again. Just keep sending us good sleep vibes.
Speaking of sleep, we need to head there too. Grandma has already headed to bed and we need to follow.
