Wow, it has been a long time since I blogged and I have heard about it from a number of you:) I apologize and will try to catch you up on what has been going on here.
Kaia is EVERYWHERE!!! In the last week she is moving and zooming. She has gotten much more proficient with her army crawl and she is almost running sometimes when we are walking around with her. She has no fear and will let go not worrying that she will fall. Today she let go of my hands and stood there for a good 5 seconds. Have I mentioned that she just turned 8 months about a week ago. Apparently I walked early too. She will try to let go and keep walking without us too. We try to stop her from doing that since we have hardwood floors and don't want her face planting yet.
This past week Grandma (Nancy) flew in on Wednesday and will be leaving us on Monday afternoon. So she got to come to our last sign language class and our last music class. Yesterday we went to the Breakers mansion (where they filmed the Great Gatsby) and Kaia did great. Bryn and I also got to go out to dinner and a movie. We hadn't seen a movie in a theater since I was pregnant. Today is a pretty lazy day and Grandma is getting ready to put brunch on the table.
As for Kaia's signs, she has 9 signs that she does and she recognizes all that we do to her - probably about 15 now. She has signed more, all done, up, cat, daddy, light, ball, milk and hat. Needless to say we are signed up for the next sign language class. By the summer we will be allowed to move up to the advanced class where they do colors, emotions, the alphabet and all kinds of other stuff. It is so exciting for us to be able to communicate with her and she loves that she can tell us things as well.
A few weeks ago I bit the bullet and did the babysitter search. Now we have a junior from the local college that we can use when we need. Last time I was part of a babysitting interview I was the one being interviewed, so it was a little weird for me. I am older than some of the people that I babysat for.
Well, this post sat in the draft pile overnight. It is now Monday morning and I should get this up for you all. We have flipped the website over to a server with much more room. Bryn is trying to find time to update it, but he has to read between 500-600 pages every week.
