Tonight is our 6th night in the house and we can actually see most of the floor and counter space. That is a huge feat considering the movers literally dumped boxes of stuff out onto the floors and counters.
Thursday night Grandma flew in for the week. She has been a great help watching Kaia while Bryn and I try to get through all of our stuff. When Kaia has been asleep, Nancy has been cleaning and helping us put stuff away.
We have gone on a couple of walks around town. On Friday we walked to lunch and then walked around downtown. Saturday it was rainy so we stayed in the house all day and did stuff around here. Today the sun did come out and we went for a walk along the cliff walk. It ended up being about a two hour walk.
Tonight we also got most of the kitchen put together. Most of the rooms are generally in place, but there is lots of random stuff laying in various spots that need to find a home. That only counts the living space. We haven't touched the basement yet or the office. We are hoping to get Kaia's room decorated in the next day or so. Because we can't paint her nursery since we are in a rental, we bought these cool vinyl decals that can be applied and removed from the walls and we have some things to hang from the ceiling. So once we get to it it shouldn't take too long.
We have had to do some searching on craigslist, etc for some things for the year. We went by a moving sale and picked up a microwave, we ordered a toy storage unit for Kaia's play room and we just ordered a microwave cart with a moving gift certificate some friends gave us. Once all of this stuff shows up we will get some of the final stuff put together. Don't get me wrong, we won't be in a RI home magazine for at least a week, but we are getting there.
Before we left San Diego we had some other pictures taken of Kaia and we just received the link. Check it out, but know that the pricing for prints in incorrect. The prices will be less once the photographer gets some software fixed on her site. The address is www.ingridkaslik.com/photocart. Click the Access Gallery link and enter in the access code 21e00df6.
Kaia has decided to throw off her sleep schedule the last couple of nights so we are trying to get her back on track. It is amazing how much she is changing and how much stronger she is getting every day. She has started leaning towards people or things that she wants. Tonight she was sitting on my lap and we were trying to get her to sleep. I was holding a pacifier and she leaned forward until she could get it with her mouth. We were all pretty entertained.
Kaia just fell asleep finally so it is time to get her into her bed. New photos will be on the website soon I promise.
