An unfortunate first...

Well, we are usually so excited about Kaia's firsts. That is not the case this time. Yesterday she got her first runny nose and she is now coughing and sneezing. That means today will also be our first sick day from Music Together. We went to baby sign yesterday because she wasn't coughing or sneezing very often. Last night I had to sleep part of the night upright with her leaning against me so she could breath.

Wednesday was another first. After Books and Babies at the library we went to see a cranial osteopath. She worked on Kaia and Kaia screamed the whole time. According to the Dr she has a severe lateral strain in her skull. Pretty much one side of her skull has shifted forward. We are hoping that after a couple of sessions Kaia will be sleeping better. Needless to say, with her not sleeping well and now getting sick she has turned into an even greater momma's girl. She won't let me even turn to walk out of the room without screaming bloody murder.

On a positive note, baby sign was a lot of fun. There were two babies around her age. The rest were much older (22-24 months). One had Down's Syndrome and a couple of the others were speach delayed for various reasons. Kaia couldn't stop watching everyone. We have already been doing some signs at home. The last couple of days she is very interested in what my hands are doing and will grab them while I am signing.

Time to change a dirty diaper. I am guessing that it is bright orange from the carrots she has been eating:)

One more quick note. Since about the holidays she has a great appreciation for paper, anything paper that she can get her little hands on, and the tags on toys. She could care less about some of the toys, but the tags are awesome!
